The Santa Ana Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Katella 82-48 at home. That looming 82-48 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Santa Ana yet this season.
Jack Rivera was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Santa Ana's points. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Lopez, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Katella still got an impressive performance from Dillon Curtis, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Curtis' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Damian, who scored eight points.
Santa Ana's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Katella, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Coincidentally, Santa Ana and Katella will both be playing Fullerton the next time they take the court. Santa Ana will head out to face Fullerton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Katella will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
