The Rivercrest Colts are on the road again on Monday and plays the Osceola Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Rivercrest had just enough and edged the Hornets out 57-54. Given Rivercrest's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Hornets are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Osceola scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 88-58 win over Lee at home. Winning may never get old, but Osceola sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Rivercrest is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season. As for Osceola, they pushed their record up to 15-12 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Rivercrest didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Seminoles when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 74-69 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rivercrest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
