Rio Rico scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They didn't even let Amphitheater onto the board and left with a 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Rio Rico, who have now won five games by four goals or more so far this season.
They hit Amphitheater with a five-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Alexis Gomez (3),
Ximenna Perez (2), and
Jackeline Estrada.
Rio Rico's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Amphitheater, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Rico's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Amphitheater will take on Sahuarita at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sahuarita has not scored a goal the last five times they've played, a trend they'll try and put an end to.
