The Auburn Tigers were the 68-60 winner over the Benjamin Russell Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Auburn took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Auburn came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Wildcats are ranked 116th).
When it comes to explaining why Auburn lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Tabari Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Antwane Daniels was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Benjamin Russell, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Benjamin Russell also has no future games currently scheduled.
