Dover is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Greyhounds a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Dover Eagles will take on the Shippensburg Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Dover pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between them and Eastern York wasn't particularly close, with Dover falling 76-58. Dover has struggled against the Golden Knights recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Shippensburg came up short against the Bubblers on Saturday and fell 63-54. While losing is never fun, Shippensburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Bubblers are ranked 177th).
Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Shippensburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Everything went Dover's way against the Greyhounds in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the Eagles made off with a 65-41 victory. Will Dover repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
