Having just played yesterday, the Parkway Center City Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Sayre Sabres at 3:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Parkway Center City posted their closest win yet this season on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past First Philadelphia Prep 43-41.
Israel Mckinley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Darryl Perry, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Sayre didn't have too much trouble with South Philadelphia on the road on Thursday as they won 56-39.
Sayre's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Rollins, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rollins has scored all season. Zahki Solomon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Parkway Center City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Sayre, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a blowout: Parkway Center City hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.4 points per game. It's a different story for Sayre, though, as they've been averaging only 49.4 points per game. The only thing between Parkway Center City and another offensive beatdown is Sayre. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Parkway Center City strolled past Sayre when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 71-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkway Center City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
