In what's become a running theme this season, the Pine River Area Bucks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Lake City for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-29 victory at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14.
Pine River Area found their leader in underclassman Mason Gugle, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Gugle hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Nathan Marks, who scored 12 points.
Pine River Area's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Lake City, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Pine River Area will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evart is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Lake City, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Aggies at 7:00 p.m.
