After a string of three wins, the Warner Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Borrego Springs by a score of 39-36. Warner was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Borrego Springs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Porras , who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Omar Acosta was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Warner's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Borrego Springs, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Warner will be playing in front of their home fans against Calexico Mission at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Borrego Springs will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Holtville at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th.
