Irwin County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Martin, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Martin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Guy, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Bacon County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xavier Harris, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Shawn Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Irwin County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Bacon County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
