Midland Christian has gone a perfect 5-0 against Southwest Christian School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Midland Christian has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Midland Christian came into their game last Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Frenship, falling 41-13. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Even if they lost, Midland Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Isaiah Mathews was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. He has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Another thorn in Frenship's side was Coy Hayes, who made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Southwest Christian School put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Covenant Christian with points to spare, taking the game 63-48.
Midland Christian better keep an eye on Trey Mosley. He was instrumental in Southwest Christian School's win, rushing for 424 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 15.7 yards per carry. Mosley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards.
Southwest Christian School was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 497 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 348 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Midland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Southwest Christian School, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
