Lawrence County has gone 9-1 against Tullahoma recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lawrence County has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Tullahoma will arrive with seven straight wins.
On Tuesday, Lawrence County came up short against Giles County and fell 9-6.
Reagan Frakes and Lily Loyd did some serious damage despite the final result: Frakes went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Loyd scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI Frakes has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrie Lovell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tullahoma made easy work of Central Magnet on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Amaya Sharp tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Goad, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Norman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Tullahoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.
Tullahoma pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lawrence County, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lawrence County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Tullahoma struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
