Horizon is 1-8 against Parkland since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Horizon Scorpions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Parkland Matadors at 7:00 p.m. Horizon is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Horizon fell victim to Bel Air's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 54-0 defeat at the hands of the Highlanders.
Meanwhile, even though Hanks scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Parkland still came out on top. Parkland snuck past Hanks with a 38-34 win.
ERIK ORTIZ was on fire: he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Martinez, who rushed for 172 yards on only 12 carries.
Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Parkland, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4.
Horizon was taken down by Parkland 48-10 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Horizon, ISAIAH BEASLEY (who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
