Kira Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 15 for 17 on her way to 33 points and five boards. The contest was her 14th in a row with at least ten points. Trinity Dunn was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.
Rocky Mount was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bunn didn't have quite enough to beat Southern Nash on Tuesday and fell 41-39.
Despite the loss, Bunn saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makayla Richardson posted 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Bunn's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ny'Lah Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 boards.
Rocky Mount's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Bunn, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Rocky Mount has been crazy accurate this season, having drained 48.3% of their field goals per game. It's a different story for Bunn, though, as they've only made 30.9% of their shots this season. Given Rocky Mount's sizable advantage in that area, Bunn will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Rocky Mount against Bunn when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-15 victory. In that game, Rocky Mount amassed a halftime lead of 35-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
