This season hasn't been kind to the Bison Cardinals, who are still winless after their fifth match. They fell just short of Edgemont by a score of 36-34. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bison in their matchups with Edgemont: they've now lost three in a row.
Edgemont was led to victory by Tavian Urban and Hadley Hollenbeck . Urban scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Hollenbeck scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Bison's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Edgemont, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Timber Lake at 5:30 p.m. on January 23, 2024. Edgemont will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Philip at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
