The McKinleyville Panthers won against the Fortuna Huskies on Tuesday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. McKinleyville managed a 53-47 win over Fortuna. The victory was familiar territory for McKinleyville who now have four in a row.
Nick Maher was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Flynn Creighton, who scored nine points.
McKinleyville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Fortuna, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKinleyville will take on Arcata at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fortuna, they will be playing at home against Eureka at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
