Forest Hills hasn't had much luck against Parkwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Forest Hills will take on Parkwood at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Forest Hills put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They blew past Monroe 17-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Yellow Jackets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Lylah Starnes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Starnes was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Maggie Weber and Aubrey Horne did most of the damage at the plate: Weber scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Horne scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Weber a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laurieyata Cuthbertson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .923. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe only posted an OBP of .312.
Meanwhile, Parkwood earned a 12-9 win over Central Academy on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Wolf Pack have won by exactly three runs.
Parkwood got a massive performance out of Grayce Marvel, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Marvel launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Parkwood and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Forest Hills, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
Parkwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Forest Hills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .495. It's a different story for Parkwood, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Forest Hills' hitters?
Forest Hills suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Parkwood when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Forest Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
