On Saturday, Byng was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Oklahoma City S. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Byng came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Oklahoma City S is ranked 364th).
Oklahoma City S got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Crayton Harland out in front who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Corbin Hamilton, who scored 12 points.
Byng's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Oklahoma City S, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byng will take on Madill at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Madill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. Oklahoma City S and Douglass will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Douglass is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
