The Oak Ridge War Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Cleveland Indians at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Oak Ridge's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Cleveland has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Oak Ridge came up short against Grand Oaks and fell 48-41. Oak Ridge has struggled against Grand Oaks recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Oak Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Harley Washington dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chioma (treasure) Emeh, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-12, which was the final score in Cleveland's tilt against The Woodlands on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cleveland has scored all season.
Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
Everything came up roses for Oak Ridge against Cleveland in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 68-8 victory. Will Oak Ridge repeat their success, or does Cleveland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
