The StoneBridge Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Broadwater Academy Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. StoneBridge has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 15 straight losses, while Broadwater Academy will come in with six straight wins.
Thursday just wasn't the day for StoneBridge's offense. They lost 16-0 to Peninsula Catholic on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Broadwater Academy put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Isle of Wight Academy get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Vikings have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Ramsey Revelle's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kacey Ford was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Webb, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Ford wasn't the only one making solid contact: Broadwater Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.
Broadwater Academy pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for StoneBridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. StoneBridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Broadwater Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
StoneBridge suffered a grim 25-0 defeat to Broadwater Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
