The Wharton Wildcats put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 45-16 victory over Leto on the road. Considering Wharton has won four matchups by more than 22 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Wharton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayla Grady, who scored 11 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Tamara Bryant, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Leto still got an impressive performance from Lizbeth Rivera, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Rivera scored a full 68.8% of Leto's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wharton pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Leto, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Wharton will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Leto and Robinson will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Robinson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leto in Florida (Robinson is ranked 194th, while Leto is ranked 462nd).
