Prosser hasn't had much luck against East Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Red Devils at 3:00 p.m. Prosser has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Prosser is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Ellensburg, falling 13-4.
Hannah Beck was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Gavyn Robillard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, East Valley entered their tilt with Quincy on Friday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Jackrabbits get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. That looming 21-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Devils yet this season.
Presley Weatherley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, East Valley let Tia Ramynke and Alisha Young run wild. Ramynke went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI, while Young went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Ramynke continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Root, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
East Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
East Valley pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Prosser, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1.
Prosser might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from East Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
