The Heritage Panthers won the last time they faced the Celebration Storm, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Heritage walked away with a 63-52 victory over Celebration.
Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Conrad Bryant, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Simpkins, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Celebration still got an impressive performance from Kendley Jean, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jedaiah Sankitts, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
The victory got Heritage back to even at 1-1. As for Celebration, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Heritage in Florida (Central is ranked 135th, while Heritage is ranked 595th). As for Celebration, they will head out on the road to face off against Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
