On Wednesday, the Idea Timberwolves faced the Banneker Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Idea fell to Banneker 80-74. Idea's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Idea saw an underclassman step up: Sean Baltimore scored 19 points along with three steals. The contest was Baltimore's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chris Hinton, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Idea were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Banneker only racked up 29 assists.
Jeremiah Shelton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Banneker, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Shelton posted eight or more assists. Doran Clausell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Idea's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Banneker, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
