Softball Recap: Powell Wins Going Away Against Webb

While Powell put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Webb. The Panthers blew past the Spartans 16-0. Considering the Panthers have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nevaeh Wells was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Langston Coggins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Powell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Webb only posted an OBP of .100.

Powell pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Webb, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powell will head out to face off against Maryville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Rebels' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Webb, they will venture away from home to challenge Baylor at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
