Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A PacWest this week, Santiam Christian beat Salem Academy 53-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
Santiam Christian took down the Crusaders 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Richard Silveira made the biggest impact on defense this week as Scio topped Jefferson. The 5-foot-7 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Brian Sarbeck was a passing and rushing force as the Loggers topped the Lions. Sarbeck's key target this week was Sarbeck, who caught 2 passes for 40 yards.
Jordan Cooper threw for 93 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 4-4 with 0 interceptions.
Nathan Schmidt was the best wideout in the league this week as Salem Academy fell to Dave Lange's team. Schmidt tallied 6 receptions for 57 yards.
Jim Stomps' team's Andrew Baker and Schmidt have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-4 quarterback Baker has thrown for 1,025 yards this season, while Schmidt has 42 catches for 956 yards. Sarbeck from Scio leads the league in rushing with 788 yards.
