The Gainesville Hurricanes fell victim to the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Yellow Jackets, falling 56-0. While losing is never fun, Gainesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 361st, while St. Augustine is ranked 20th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Augustine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trendell Anderson, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Cook, who threw for 80 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for St. Augustine, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-0.
Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Augustine is also done with their season.
