Union Grove lost to Houston County back in August of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wolverines walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Union Grove had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23.

McKenzie Burrell paced Union Grove's offense, picking up 13 kills. Burrell got some help from Sadie Peterson and her 32 assists. Kylee Evans controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Union Grove's victory bumped their record up to 13-3-1. As for Houston County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.

Union Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Stockbridge on the 2nd. As for Houston County, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Statesboro on the 3rd.
