Basketball Game Preview: Cheney Tech Chargers vs. Goodwin RVT Gladiators

The Cheney Tech Chargers will square off against the Goodwin RVT Gladiators at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Cheney Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Goodwin RVT likes a good challenge.

Cheney Tech is returning to their home court after beating Grasso Tech on theirs, despite the fact Grasso Tech has dominated at home this season. Cheney Tech enjoyed a cozy 78-64 victory over Grasso Tech on Tuesday.

Mohamed Camara continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 16 en route to 24 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazhaun Copeland, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Cheney Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Goodwin RVT unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were dealt an 81-49 defeat at the hands of Academy of Science and Innovation. The matchup marked the Gladiators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cheney Tech is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Goodwin RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Cheney Tech against Goodwin RVT when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured an 85-55 win. Will Cheney Tech repeat their success, or does Goodwin RVT have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
