York-Adams III recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to York Suburban, who took down 434th ranked York Catholic, 41-35.
Bermudian Springs extended the longest winning streak in York-Adams III this week by beating Biglerville, 37-21. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
The Fighting Irish's dynamic duo of James Dougherty and Aaron O'Brien proved tough for the Trojans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dougherty threw for 301 yards and five touchdowns and O'Brien had 104 yards receiving. Scott Bartkowiak helped York Catholic's passing attack out by catching three balls for 84 yards.
Alex Cooley was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 495 yards on 23 carries as Eastern York fell to York Suburban. Clayton Miller also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.
Eric Depew's team's Dougherty and O'Brien have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dougherty has thrown for 2641 yards this season, while O'Brien, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 37 catches for 794 yards. The Golden Knights' Cooley leads the league in rushing yards with 2845.
In 140 carries Zach Stroup has accumulated 983 yard this year.
Brian Freed's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,146 from 10,546. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-35 victory over the Fighting Irish last week.
