Thursday just wasn't the day for the Stratford Red Devils's offense. They took a serious blow against Bunnell, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, Stratford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Bunnell is ranked 32nd).
Alberto Torres was the offensive standout of the game as he gained 101 total yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Mendoza, who threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bunnell, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Stratford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bunnell will head out on the road to face off against Windsor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Windsor is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
