The Russellville Indians fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on New Bloomfield with a sharp 71-51 victory on Thursday. Russellville pushed the score to 60-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, New Bloomfield still got an impressive performance from Jacob Fuhriman, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Fuhriman pulled down eight or more rebounds. Andrew Fouch was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Russellville's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for New Bloomfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Russellville will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Bloomfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Owls at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Marshall is ranked 398th, while the Wildcats are ranked 400th).
