Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Eastern Hancock

Eastern Hancock entered their tilt with Randolph Southern on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Everything went their way against the Randolph Southern Rebels as they made off with a 57-35 victory. The Royals pushed the score to 42-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Eastern Hancock to victory were McKenzie Koch and Bella Sotelo. Koch posted 24 points and eight steals, while Sotelo went 7 of 12 en route to 14 points and seven steals. Koch's evening made it 21 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiersten Judd, who put up seven points and six rebounds.

Eastern Hancock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Randolph Southern still got an impressive performance from Haileigh Allen, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Allen also posted eight blocks, which is notable because Randolph Southern is 9-4 when she posts at least three blocks, but 2-4 otherwise.

Eastern Hancock pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Randolph Southern, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Eastern Hancock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-54 loss against Tri on the 30th. Randolph Southern has also already played their next match (against Anderson Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
