The Waynesboro Indians will head out on the road to face off against the East Pennsboro Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesboro is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Waynesboro fell victim to Shippensburg's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 27-0 defeat at the hands of the Greyhounds. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, Waynesboro couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday East Pennsboro sidestepped Susquehanna Township for a 31-28 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Pennsboro.
East Pennsboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keith Oates iii out in front who threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Oates iii is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last six games he's played. Jj Gossard was in the mix too, providing East Pennsboro with two touchdowns.
Shippensburg's win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Waynesboro's defeat dropped theirs to 2-7.
Waynesboro came out on top in a nail-biter against East Pennsboro when the teams last played back in October of 2022, sneaking past 13-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waynesboro since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
