The Davis Blue Devils''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Pleasant Grove 16-10. Davis lost against Pleasant Grove in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-20 score last time.
Pleasant Grove was led to victory by Nic Trillo and Anthony Solorzano. Trillo picked up 57 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Solorzano threw for 208 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Carter Tseu did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
Davis' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis will take on Jesuit at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Pleasant Grove, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sheldon at 7:15 p.m. Sheldon is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
