Pomona hasn't had much luck against Green Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Pomona came out on top against Wheat Ridge on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Farmers with a sharp 10-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won seven in a row.

Tyler Dempsy looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Pomona is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise.
At the plate, Pomona let Victor Cafaro Jr. and Riley Biesk run wild. Cafaro Jr. went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Biesk went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Biesk has become a key player for Pomona: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Tavin Caldwell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Pomona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Green Mountain won against Standley Lake on Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Rams blew past Littleton 11-1.
Green Mountain also got a great performance from Cooper Jones as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Jones has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pierson Drake was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Royce Pina, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Green Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Pomona, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Pomona came up short against Green Mountain in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 8-3. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
