Lindsay had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 3-0 to make it six. Everything went their way against the Pilot Point Bearcats as they made off with a 42-22 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Lindsay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cutter Cheaney.
Having lost for the first time this season, Pilot Point fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.
Josh Chumley and Caden David certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Chumley rushed for 116 yards and one score on only 15 carries, while David rushed for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindsay will challenge Leonard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pilot Point, they will square off against Howe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
