The Lakeside School Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 76-60 fall against Abbeville Christian Academy. The match was a 36-36 toss-up at halftime, but Lakeside School was outscored by Abbeville Christian Academy in the second.
Abbeville Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javarse Turner, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Turner is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Buckhannon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Lakeside School bumped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Lakeside School will head out on the road to square off against Chambers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. Ezekiel Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Abbeville Christian Academy is ranked 141st).
