The Lugoff-Elgin Demons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight loss. They were outmatched by Ridge View on the road and fell 82-44. Lugoff-Elgin has struggled against the Blazers recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jillian Rush, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Rush hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Teryn Hobson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Ridge View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Simone Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anasia Harvey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Ridge View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Westwood the next time they take the court. Lugoff-Elgin will host the Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blazers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
