Lake Cormorant had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Rosa Fort with a 60-56 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlos Smith, who scored 16 points. Robert Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Lake Cormorant's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Rosa Fort, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Lake Cormorant will look to defend their home court on Friday against Southaven at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Southaven is ranked 40th, while Lake Cormorant is ranked 51st). Rosa Fort is on the road again on Thursday and play against Clarksdale at 7:30 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Clarksdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday.
