Stanton County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cimarron, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans blew past the Bluejays 18-4 on Monday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 13 runs or more this season.
Kaydence McCleary was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. McCleary was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Mia Miravete was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Karlee Nairn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Stanton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cimarron only posted an OBP of .292.
Stanton County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cimarron, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Coincidentally, Stanton County and Cimarron will both be playing Ulysses the next time they take the field. The Bluejays will head out to face the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
