Hancock had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Anthony Tagler was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tagler was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Hancock's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 6-3 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Hancock let Ryan Ostrowski and Eduardo Hernandez run wild. Ostrowski went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Hernandez went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Hernandez has become a key player for Hancock: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise. David Rosales was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Hancock's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Back of the Yards College Prep, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock will square off against Clemente at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Back of the Yards College Prep, they will challenge Curie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
