The Dixie Flyers will square off against the Bear River Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dixie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Cedar. The high-scoring effort was just what the Flyers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
PEYTON HATCH spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Morgan Staheli, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Wastlund, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dixie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar only managed three.
Meanwhile, Bear River came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Timberwolves with a sharp 15-4 win.
Brielle Gardiner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gardiner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Bear River got a massive performance out of Marley Tisdol, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Tisdol has posted since back in April of 2025. Molly Canfield was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
Dixie's record is now 19-11. As for Bear River, their record now sits at 23-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dixie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
