After flying high against the Regis Groff Fusion on Thursday, the Rangeview Raiders came back down to earth. Rangeview took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smoky Hill on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rangeview in their matchups with Smoky Hill: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Royce Edwards, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kenny Black-Knox, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Smoky Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylan Graham, who scored 16 points. The match was Graham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Contreras, who scored 11 points along with eight assists.
Rangeview now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Smoky Hill, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Rangeview will head out on the road to face off against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grandview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Smoky Hill, they will be playing at home against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.2 points per game.
