Sadly, the Woodson Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season after nine games. They suffered a rough 52-30 defeat at the hands of McKinley Tech on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodson in their matchups with McKinley Tech: they've now lost six in a row.
Leading McKinley Tech to victory were Jemima Bomoyi and Chiagoziem Njoku. Bomoyi dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals, while Njoku dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Njoku has scored all season. Kamille Fisher was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Woodson dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for McKinley Tech, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodson will face off against Jackson-Reed at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McKinley Tech, they will head out on the road to take on Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McKinley Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
