Midway has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Clinton Dark Horses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Midway was handed a 43-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against West Bladen on Tuesday. Midway narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past West Bladen 41-39. The victory was just what Midway needed coming off of a 52-9 loss in their prior matchup.
Midway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Williams out in front who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Stonerock, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clinton beat Red Springs 35-24 on Tuesday.
Midway's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Midway came up short against Clinton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 39-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Clinton's Ciara Stuart, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
