The Antietam Mountaineers won the last time they faced the Kutztown Cougars, and things went their way on Friday too. Antietam came out on top against Kutztown by a score of 49-40.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Antietam to victory, but perhaps none more so than AJ Schiefly, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Raffety, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
The win got Antietam back to even at 9-9. As for Kutztown, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antietam will take on Tulpehocken at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tulpehocken has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Kutztown, they will be playing at home against Schuylkill Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schuylkill Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kutztown in Pennsylvania (Schuylkill Valley is ranked 293rd, while Kutztown is ranked 621st).
