Liberty is 1-7 against Desert Oasis since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Diamondbacks at 3:30 p.m.
Liberty is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Faith Lutheran, who was ranked seventh at the time (Liberty was ranked 11th). The Patriots fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 5-4 on Monday.
Carter Brunson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Miller's first of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Desert Oasis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Green Valley 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Diamondbacks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Liberty now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Desert Oasis, their win bumped their record up to 20-8-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Desert Oasis struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
