The Wallkill Panthers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against Johnson City by a score of 60-48.
Zoe Mesuch was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Dembinsky, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Wallkill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Johnson City, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 9-3.
Wallkill will head out on the road to face off against Cornwall Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson City, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ithaca at 7:15 p.m. Ithaca comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
