Basketball Recap: Nash Bertram Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cristo Rey

Stillwater S won the last time they faced Cristo Rey and things went their way on Thursday too. The Stillwater S Spartans took down Cristo Rey 62-44. The Spartans didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stillwater S to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nash Bertram, who posted 18 points along with eight boards and three steals. Bertram has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Truett Tolar, who put up 21 points.

Stillwater S was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stillwater S's record now sits at 4-8. As for Cristo Rey, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Stillwater S won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hoops for Christ at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stillwater S has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cristo Rey, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stillwater S at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
