The Union Grove Christian Patriots lost against the Faith Christian Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Union Grove Christian was the victim of a tough 57-33 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Union Grove Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Eagles are ranked 139th).
Union Grove Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sara Long, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Long hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Klaira Cromer, who scored nine points.
Union Grove Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Faith Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Grove Christian will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Guilford HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday. As for Faith Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
